North Brabant, Netherlands
Overview
Efteling is a theme park in the Netherlands which uses local myths, folklore, legends and fairy tales within it's attractions.
Whilst its roots date back to 1935, the park opened in 1952 with it's Fairy Tale Forest which uses animatronics, figures and buildings to tell well known stories including those from Hans Christian Anderson and the Brothers Grimm.
Over time the park expanded, opening larger and in some cases more thrilling attractions such as Python and Baron 1898, the park however continues to rely on story based themes and story telling.
The wider resort contains multiple hotels including a new Grand Hotel due to open in 2025.

There is something very magical about Efteling. The theming and story telling is some of the best Europe has to offer along with a great mix of rides for everyone.
I went during the height of summer holidays and it wasn't anywhere near as busy as you'd expect in other parks such as Disneyland Paris (nor as expensive!).
Can't wait to visit again.
