Overview

Operating

Opened in 1981 taking Efteling from a fairy-tale forest to an amusement park.

The ride features two vertical loops and two corkscrews in a row.

In 2005 the trains were replaced by Kumbak Coasters and later in December 2011 replaced again with ones provided by Vekoma. In 2017 most of the track was replaced due to the aging steel. Modifications were made during the re-track to smooth out the ride.

Python is a very classic 80's looping coaster. The layout is basic compared to some of the experiences out there today but you have to expect that from a ride of this age.

I was pleasantly surprised about how smooth the ride was, just didn't expect it all - suspect it's due to the fact the ride was retracked a few years back. The restraints are pretty comfortable as well.

Shame about the lack of theming, especially for Efteling. I would say it's probably a decent ride for young riders looking for their first inversion.
