Villa Volta

Villa Volta opened as the first Vekoma Madhouse. Visitors are seated in a swing based in a drum which can rotated 360 degrees giving the illusion of being turned upside down.

The ride's story is based on a local legend of the 'Bokkenrijders' (Goat riders), a gang of robbers active in the Netherlands and Belgian during the 18th century. Villa Volta is the home of the gang lead by Hugo van den Loonsche Duynen who during a pre-show tells visitors the story of how a curse was bestowed upon him by a mysterious woman after robbing the Abbey of Postel.

Music for the ride was created by Ruud Bos who also created soundtracks for other rides at Efteling including Droomvlucht and Fata Morgana.
