Hex: The Legend of the Towers

Hex: The Legend of the Towers, is an immersive Vekoma Madhouse at Alton Towers.

Opened in 2000, the ride is set within the ruins of the Alton Towers mansion and is based on a local legend surrounding the Earl of Shrewsbury. The story tells of a curse placed on the Earl after he refused a beggar's plea for help, leading to eerie and supernatural events.

The ride combines walkthrough sections with dramatic special effects and culminates in a thrilling ride experience where the room appears to spin, creating the illusion of gravity-defying movement. Hex blends history, storytelling, and cutting-edge ride technology, offering a mysterious and atmospheric experience for visitors.

in 2023 the ride closed for almost two seasons whilst the ride underwent major maintenance and refurbishing of theming elements.
