TRON Lightcycle / Run queue changes
Thursday 5 September 2024
After more than two years of operating exclusively with a Virtual Queue and Individual Lightning Lane passes, TRON Lightcycle / Run will now introduce a standard standby queue, starting Monday, September 9th.
Previously, guests hoping to board the iconic Lightcycles were required to log into Disney’s app at set times throughout the day to secure a place in the Virtual Queue, which often filled up within seconds. Alternatively, visitors could purchase an Individual Lightning Lane pass, which allowed them to skip the wait entirely. However, many found the system challenging, as it required both luck and perfect timing to snag a coveted spot on the Virtual Queue roster.
With the transition to a traditional standby line, the process will become more straightforward. Guests can now walk up and join the line, as they would for most other attractions at the park. This move is expected to ease some of the frustration for those who may have missed out on the Virtual Queue.
TRON Lightcycle / Run remains one of the most in-demand attractions at Magic Kingdom, offering riders the chance to zoom through a neon-lit, futuristic world inspired by the TRON film franchise. It combines high-speed thrills with stunning visuals, making it a must-do experience for Disney fans.
Though the Virtual Queue system will no longer be available for TRON Lightcycle / Run, it will still be used for other attractions at Walt Disney World including Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
The introduction of a standby line for TRON Lightcycle / Run marks an exciting new chapter for the ride and offers guests a more accessible way to experience one of Magic Kingdom’s most thrilling adventures.
