New Lion King ride coming to Disneyland Paris
Sunday 11 August 2024
Disney has announced a new Lion King attraction coming to its Paris resort, promising visitors an immersive journey through the African savanna. Guests will experience the adventure alongside beloved Lion King characters. This news was revealed by Disney's theme park chief, Josh D’Amaro, during the D23 convention. Among the highlights shown were mock-ups of a log flume ride descending from Pride Rock, with Rafiki watching over the scene.
Disney's confirmation of the Lion King-themed land comes on the heels of their upcoming World of Frozen, a new area based on the Frozen franchise set to open in Paris in 2026. Both of these new attractions will be part of the Walt Disney Studios Park, which will be renamed Disney Adventure World to reflect the expanded offerings.
An artist's impression shared by Disney includes a depiction of a new evening show at the park, featuring drones hovering above water and projecting images of Moana onto fountains, promising a spectacular visual experience for visitors.
For the Lion King attraction, Disney's Imagineering team has committed to bringing the iconic Pride Rock to life as the centerpiece of this new adventure. The water ride will take guests beneath Pride Rock, allowing them to follow Simba's journey from a young cub to the king of the Pride Lands.
