Alton Towers unveils Scarefest attractions for 2024
Thursday 29 August 2024
Alton Towers has unveiled exciting new attractions for this year's Scarefest, promising the "ultimate Halloween celebration." The annual event will take place from October 11 to November 3, transforming the entire resort into a "festival of spooks and scares." Along with a variety of scare attractions, visitors will also have the chance to enjoy the theme park’s rides in the dark, adding an extra layer of thrill to the experience.
One of the new highlights for Scarefest is a live-action scare maze called Compound, inspired by the story of Nemesis Reborn, which reopened this year. In this maze, guests become subjects of the Phalanx, an organization that originally kept the Nemesis beast under control. The maze is described as an "intense and disorientating" experience set within a Phalanx facility, featuring dark, claustrophobic environments and experiments where guests’ DNA becomes the next weapon.
Another new addition to Scarefest is the family-friendly attraction, Amigos in the Afterlife, which takes over the former Alton Towers Dungeon site. This attraction invites guests into a world where the boundary between life and the afterlife is blurred. Guided by friendly spirits, visitors must navigate back to the living world, encountering mischievous characters who challenge them to earn their passage home.
Returning for this year's Scarefest include the Daz Games: Panic Reloaded, a collaboration with YouTube star Daz Games that combines an escape room with a live-action scare maze and the family-friendly Trick O’ Treat Town with Haribo. Alton Towers Resort's divisional director, Bianca Sammut, promises that this year's Scarefest will be more "spooktacular than ever," offering a mix of creepy scares, shocks, and unforgettable family memories.
